Foxford – โ€œthe Capital of the Moyโ€ – is a village in County Mayo, Ireland which is Nestled between the Ox mountains and the Nephin mountain range. This world-renowned fishermanโ€™s Mecca on the Moy has lots to offer in terms of spectacular scenery, walking trails & historical heritage.

Agnes Bernard (1842-1932), founded a convent and started a water-powered woollen mill here in 1892. The Woollen Mills today is a thriving business with 3 stores throughout Ireland and still produces its world-renowned blankets.

Admiral William Brown (1777โ€“1857), founder of the Argentine Navy. The hero of the Argentine War of Independence, and defender of Buenos Aires in the Cisplatine War, was born in Foxford.
